Gladys Jones Ward, 95 of Bryans Road, Maryland died on April 19, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. Born November 2, 1916 in Henderson County, North Carolina to Hamilton E. and Della M. Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Keith A. Ward; her daughter, Patricia Carr; her son Jerry Ward; her sister, Viola Levi and brothers Miles, Mark, Leslie, Quentin and Clifford Jones.

She is survived by her daughter Peggy (Chester) DePew of Bryans Road and sons Randy Ward of Brandywine and Terry Ward of Lynchburg, Virginia; 13 Grandchildren, 33 Great-Grandchildren, 18 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She was known to those who loved her as Bubba. After retirement from FW Woolworths (18 years) at Andrews Manor, she also served as a volunteer at Southern Maryland Hospital Center (23) years. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Waldorf and a former resident of Victoria Park Senior Apartments in Waldorf, Maryland.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland where funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 10:30 am. Burial will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Charles County in appreciation of their loving care in her final days. Rev. Wayne Kempson will officiate.
