Norris Cecil Hindle, 68 of McConnellsburg, PA, formerly of St. Mary's and Charles County, MD passed away at his home surrounded by his family. Born July 29, 1943 in La Plata, MD, he was the son of the late Maurice Hindle and Virginia Dare Bowie.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife, the former Dorothy Balta Moore who he married on November 30, 1991. Mrs. Hindle survives at their home.

Also surviving are 1 son, Kevin Hindle of MD, 2 stepsons, Robert Moore of MD, David Moore of NY, and 1 grandson, Charles Moore of MD. Mr. Hindle is survived by 10 siblings; Steve Hindle of VA, Betty Mitchell of VA, Eileen Hardesty of MD, Randy Bowie of MD, Mike Bowie of MD, Rita Thomas of VA, Anita Marsh of MD, Kathy Crowe of MD, Essie Gueno of FL, Cliff Bowie of MD, and David Bowie of NC.

In addition to his parents Mr. Hindle was preceded in death by one sister, Eunice Hewett.

Norris was a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was vice president of his company, NORCRON, LLC; McConnellsburg, PA Norris retired from Honeywell as a contracts manager after 11 years of service. He loved building things and tinkering in his barn with tools and tractors. He was always willing to help the neighbors in the area with anything they needed. Mr. Hindle was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army as General Abrams right hand man and was honorably discharged.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29, 2012 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 9:30AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
