James Shakespeare "Jack" Bowling, Jr., 73, of Charlotte Hall, MD (Newport) died March 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospice House, Callaway, MD. Born November 17, 1938 in Wicomico, MD, Jack was the son of James Shakespeare Bowling, Sr. and Margaret Marie Herbert Bowling.

Jack was primarily a tobacco farmer, although he also worked for the Tidewater Veneer Company and the Asplundh Service Company `burying telephone cables. He loved hunting, target shooting, flying kites, releasing balloons with his family, using large heavy duty equipment, trips to Virginia Beach and spending time with family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Catherine T. Bowling and children, Noreen Lynn Gascon and husband Larry, James Shakespeare Bowling, III, Patricia Jo Cooksey, and Jeffrey Glen Bowling and wife Margaret; 2 sisters; 10 grandchildren, Abe, Chris and Luke Gascon, Carl Cooksey, Sarah Talbert, Austin and Dylan Bowling ,Lauren, Katie and Ryan Bowling; great grandchildren, Annabelle and Luke Talbert, Jr., Danny Gascon, Jr., Madison and Landon Cooksey, Alayna and Kaelyn Bowling, Paul Plymire IV.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Prayers will be held at 7:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (Newport) 11555 St. Mary's Church Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Abe, Chris and Luke Gascon, Austin and Dylan Bowling, Carl Cooksey, Luke Talbert and Nick Pfeiffer.
