Allen Glenn Carson of La Plata, MD died on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. He was 97 years old.

Mr. Carson was a Rural Mail Carrier for 35 years with the United States Postal Service and a Veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served as a Staff Sgt. during World War II. He was a long-time member of Perryopolis Methodist Church in PA and a former member of the Lions Club. He was a world traveler and lived many years in AZ.

He met and married his wife during his service time in England. He was a devoted grandfather and great- grandfather.

Son of the late William W. Carson and the late Herma Maude Hall Carson

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara A. Carson; one son, Robert Allen (Diane) Carson of Huntsville, AL; one daughter, Cheryl Lee (William) Swartzwelder of La Plata, MD; one brother, Clarence (Lois) Carson of Perryopolis, PA; five grandchildren, Eric, Matthew, David, Anne, and Amanda; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Heidi, Scott, and Elise.

Memorial Service: Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1PM at Grace Lutheran Church in La Plata, MD Clergy: Rev. Charles Long Interment: Perryopolis Community Cemetery at a later date.
