Mildred Helen Rice, (Millie) 76, of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Clinton, MD, died January 26, 2012 at her residence. Born September 9, 1935 in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of Fredrick George Deil and Anne Mildred Burke Deil and the widow of Richard D. Rice.

Mildred worked for many years as a payroll supervisor for the Department of Defense. Her passion was her family. She also loved spending weekends at Ocean City going to the beach. She enjoyed listening to country music, watching NASCAR races, and the Dallas Cowboys. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved poodle "Max".

Mildred is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Richard D. Rice; step-mother, Madeline Deil, and half-sister Elaine. siblings, Eugene Deil and Rosemary Herzog.

She is survived by her son, Richard D. Rice, Jr. (Carmen); daughters, Joanne M. Davenport (Paul) and Peggy R. Hinojos; grandchildren, Laura, Paula, Caitlin and Matthew Davenport, Stephanie, Richard III and Jennifer Rice, Jordan Hinojos; and great-grandchild, Brayden Rice.

She is also survived by her half-brothers Fred, Edward and half-sisters Lorraine. She also leaves behind many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends that she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends for Mildred's Life Celebration on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 2 -4 and 6 -8p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, MD. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
