James Edward Monn of Waldorf, MD, died on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at his residence with Hospice. He was 92 years old.

Mr. Monn was an Electrician for 40 years and retired from the Naval Research Lab in Washington, DC and was a Veteran of the Sea Bees - United States Navy, having served during World War II. Mr. Monn attended New Life Church in La Plata, MD. He was a huge Washington Redskins fan, enjoyed Christmas decorations at his home, and loved working in his yard. He also enjoyed vacations at the beach and lighthouses. He most enjoyed being with his family and grand kids.

Son of the late James Garfield Monn and the late Iona B. Munson Monn.

Predeceased by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Lois Monn; and three sisters.

Survived by two sons, James D. Monn and his wife Lisa of CA and Timothy K. Monn and his wife Debbi of Waldorf, MD; sister-in-law, Doris Edwards. Also survived by six grandchildren: Christina, Melissa, Julie, Brandon, Christian, and Kaitlin and one great- grandchild: Dakota.

Visitation: Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 with an additional visitation on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 10- 11AM at New Life Wesleyan Church (9690 Shepherd's Creek Place, La Plata, MD 20646). Funeral Service: Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 11AM at New Life Wesleyan Church, La Plata, MD. Clergy: Pastor Mike Hilson. Interment: MD Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD at 12:30 PM Pallbearers: Tim, James, Brandon, and Christian Monn, Matt Stallard, and Bill Smith. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Navy Honor Guard.
