Karen Elizabeth Johnson, 46, of Bryantown, MD, formerly of Stevens City, VA, died June 26, 2011 at her residence. Born May 22, 1965 in Silver Spring, MD, she was the daughter of Thomas Harold Johnson and Carol Gibbons Johnson.

She was a registered nurse. Karen graduated from La Plata High School in 1983. She attended Charles County Community College and Edison Community College in Fort Myers, FL. She worked at Physicians Memorial Hospital, Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Charles County Nursing Home and with the Hospice of Charles County. She also flew as a flight nurse on the Medevac helicopter in Charles County.

Karen was predeceased by her father, Thomas Johnson, who died in 2002.

She is survived by her mother, Carol; brothers, Brian Michael Johnson (Cassandra) of Woodstock, VA and Thomas Christopher Johnson (Dana) of Newburg, MD and sister, Mary Ann Bryant (Anthony) of Waldorf, MD; also by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 6 - 8:30p.m at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 11:00a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
