Robert Hector "Rob" Becker of La Plata, Maryland, died suddenly on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in Waldorf, MD. He was 22 years old. Born on July 5, 1988 at Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, MD, he was the son of Susan Marie and John Daniel Becker.

A sheet metal worker with the Sheet Metal Worker's Union of Washington, DC, Rob could fix anything, a jack of all trades, and willing to help anyone in need.

He will be well remembered for his generous, caring, willing spirit in helping so many.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, the late Norma "MeMaw" Penrod.

In addition to his parents, Rob is survived by his brother Daniel George Becker and his wife Kim; his nephew Tyler Becker and niece Elysia Becker; his maternal grandfather John "PePaw" Penrod and his wife Nancy; his paternal grandmother Jane Louise Cowan; his aunt and uncle Barbara and Arthur Allen and their daughter Hannah; his aunt and uncle Debbie and Buddy Goddard and their children Joe, Amanda, Shelia and her husband Mike and their children David, Anthony and Adam; his aunt and uncle Terri and Robert Culpepper and their daughter Angelina; his aunt and uncle Jae and Steve Veiga, their children Lisa and Andrea and their children Alex, Zach, Lexi and Ava; his aunt and uncle Bernie and Willie and their children Keshia, Stephanie, and Amber.

Memorial service was held on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Soli Deo Gloria Church in La Plata, MD with the Reverend Rob Pilkerton and the Reverend Rob Murphy officiating.

Interment was private.
