Jolly H. Kitts, Jr., 61, of Waldorf, MD, died December 8, 2010, at his residence under Hopsice care.

Mr. Kitts was a union carpenter with the Carpenter's Union Local #1145. He graduated from Lackey High School in 1969 and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served 13 years as an aviation structural mechanic. He was a member of American Legion Post 82. He enjoyed cruising in his 1956 Chevy, being with family and friends and spending time with his four-legged companion "Blaze".

Born December 7, 1949, in VA, he was the son of the late Jolly H. Kitts, Sr. and the late Joan Trowbridge Kitts.

Predeceased by his parents; brother, Jay Daniel Kitts; sister, Janet Marie Kitts.

Survived by his wife of 15 years, Irene M. Kitts; daughters, Colleen Renae Spellacy, Maranda Michelle Eggeling and Stephanie Ann Matthews; son, John Eric Hanson; sister, Jeanette Lee Kitts Hutchins; brothers, Joseph Franklin Kitts (twin) and Jeffrey Craig Kitts.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 20, 2010, from 2PM until 8PM, with an American Legion Memorial Service at 6:45PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Prayer of Farewell will be Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at 9:30AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel prior to processing to the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD, for a committal service beginning at 10:30AM.

Kathleen Quade will officiate.

Interment will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Pallbearers will be David Quade, Mark Radcliff, Shawn Spellacy, Mike "Marv" Wilson, Rob Hutchins, and Dean Risko.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Travis Daniel Kitts and Garrett Lee Radcliff and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Maryland Melanoma Center - FSHC, 9103 Franklin Square Drive, Suite 2300, Baltimore, MD 21237.
