Roosevelt Miller, 78, of Newburg, MD, died November 21, 2010, at his residence with Hospice.

Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a carpenter for 35 years with Mid-Atlantic Regional Carpenters Local #132. He was a member of the Cobb Island Baptist Church and the VFW 100081 in Bel Alton. He was the caretaker of the Morgantown Beach for 17 years and the Crain Memorial Welcome Center for 12 years. He enjoyed gardening, cutting the grass, the Dallas Cowboys, and hunting. He loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Born January 31, 1932, in Mouth of Seneca, WV, he was the son of the late Denton Miller and the late Chloe B. Lough Miller.

Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Dewey Miller, Gene Miller; sisters, Joy Rao and Joann Miller.

Survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Dolly Miller; son, Richard Miller and his wife Lisa of Newburg, MD; daughters, Sharon K. Miller-Snyder and her husband Kenneth of Waldorf, MD; Brenda L. Crowl and her husband Joseph of Newburg, MD; brothers, Johnie Miller, Truman Miller, Worth Miller all of West Virginia; sisters, Pauline Phares of Maysville, WV; Mae Sites of Cabins, WV; Sweetie Vance of WV; Josey Champ of WV; Velma Bland of Onego, WV; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, November 26, 2010, from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 27, 2010, at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Rev. Hank Scoggins will officiate.

Interment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Law, Rob Vermillion, Steven Crowl, Mark Miller, Danny Miller and Christopher Lett.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the United States Army Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charles County, P.O. Box 1703, La Plata, MD 20646.
