Ester Joann Isenberg-Gadow, age 53, of Lusby MD died September 11, 2010 after a lengthy illness at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Ester was born May 15, 1957 to Elwood Myron and Mary Mae (Skinner) Isenberg.

She was raised in North Beach, attended Beach Elementary School and graduated from Northern High in 1975. Ester received an A.A. degree in Computer Sciences from the Charles County Community College, now a part of the College of Southern Maryland, where she was on the Dean's List and a member of Beta Delta Delta Sorority. Her career included working at Calvert Memorial Hospital as a Unit Secretary, at Prince George's County Office of Child Services and Enforcement and later was employed as an administrative assistant for the Prince George's County Fire Department Logistics. She retired due to health concerns in 2002.

Ester enjoyed spending time with family and friends, rock music and her dogs Blu, Diamond and Shultz. She spent many years of devotion taking care of her mother prior to her death in 2007. Married for only two years, her anniversary was celebrated at her bedside at Shock Trauma on August 30, 2010. Holidays were specifically celebrated with Christmas being her favorite because she enjoyed giving to others. Last year the Solomons Volunteer Fire Department braved the snow to make sure Mr. and Mrs. Claus came to visit her while she was ill. It was the highlight of the holiday for her.

Surviving are her husband Thomas S. Gadow of Lusby, one sister Marie Mullins of Lusby, two brothers George H. and his wife Debbie Isenberg and Samuel J. and his wife Lisa Isenberg, all of North Beach. Also surviving are two nieces Debra Lee Isenberg and Taylor Isenberg and a nephew David and his wife Megan Isenberg, and a great-nephew John Isenberg, all of North Beach, and two dear friends Carol Bradford of Chesapeake Beach and Renee Thomas of LaPlata, MD and her three dogs Blu, Diamond and Schultz.

Arrangements provided by Rausch Funeral Home.
