Dorothy Veda Embrey, age 81, of Prince Frederick, MD and formerly of Bethesda died September 9, 2010 at the home of her daughter. She was born in Washington, DC November 13, 1928 to Lester Roland and Margaret Emma (Somner) Yarrington.

Dorothy was a retired wholesale food broker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James W. Embrey on June 3, 2000 and sons James W. Embrey III, and Robert M. Embrey.

Surviving are her daughter Carolyn V. Sunderland and her husband Hutch of Dunkirk, MD and son Stephen M. Embrey of Prince Frederick, MD six grandchildren; Katherine Paige Sunderland of Dunkirk, Benjamin Hutchins Sunderland of Dunkirk, Tammy Jo Glass and her husband Phillip of King George, VA, James W. Embrey IV of Prince Frederick, Anna Marie Embrey of Greenbelt and James W. Embrey of Greenbelt .and a brother Lester R. Yarrington, Jr. of Chestertown, MD.

Services and interment with be private.
