Sylvia Katherine Estep, 64, died October 3, 2009 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. She was born September 9, 1945 in West Palm Beach, FL to John and Hilda Cutlet Chochola.

She traveled with her family during her father's military career, and graduated from Surrattsville High School in Prince George's County when he was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. She received her A.A. in Paralegal Studies from Prince George's Community College, and was employed for 15 years as an Intake Specialist in the Public Defenders Office in Upper Marlboro, MD, retiring in 2006.

She married George W. Estep III on February 3, 1967 and they lived and raised their family in Forestville and Shady Side, MD. Mr. Estep died May 18, 1995, and Sylvia moved to Leonardtown, MD in 2001, and for the past three years she lived in Owings with her daughter. She was devoted to her pet beagle "Jacksin", and she enjoyed knitting, cake decorating, reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by daughters Katherine A. Doyle of Owings and Georgianna L. Estep of Lexington Park; grandchildren Damien Doyle, Krystal Ringley, Brittney Doyle and Alyssa McNally, and a sister Clara Lee of Waldron, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and by a sister Patricia Brown.

A memorial visitation and celebration of Sylvia's life will be held Thursday October 8 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD. Interment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville will be at a later date.
