Heaven welcomed Cecelia "Darlene" Stubbs, 50, of Lexington Park, Maryland on July 5, 2016. She was born on November 1, 1965 in Leonardtown, Maryland to Joseph and Thelma Woodland.

Darlene was a member of the Chopticon High School class of 1984. She was currently employed by Home Helpers as a home health aide after previously being employed as a security guard at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home and NAVAIR Building 2272 at Patuxent River.

As a devoted wife and loving mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, godmother and friend, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her two granddaughters, Mahkia and Maliya (her pride and joy). You could always count on Darlene to speak her mind and grace you with her wisdom. She loved to play bingo, the daily pick three/four numbers, and cards. She also liked cooking and grabbing a cup of coffee at Wawa's.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell D. Stubbs; maternal grandparents, Louis and Alice Woodland; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Agnes Woodland and one sister, Sonya Woodland. She is survived by and leaves to cherish her memories, her parents; two sons, Dominic Pendleton and Darrell Stubbs II; one daughter, Tesha Stubbs; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph "Al" Woodland and David J. Woodland; one sister, Ellen (Daryl) Bogier; four brothers-in-law: John (Martha) Stubbs; Robert (Beverly) Stubbs, Videll Stubbs and Julian Stubbs; three sisters-in-law: Margaret (Jay) Holman, Genevieve (Gary) Freed and Carolyn Stubbs and a host of other loved ones and friends.

Family and friends will unite on Thursday, July 14, 2016 for visitation at 10:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 28297 Old Village Rd, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. On Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10:15 am, interment will be held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623. Arrangements by Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home.
