Maria was a delightful and very charming people person, perfect for the job and loved by all who met her. She left Ohio and moved to Maryland, again with family and lived in Camp Springs. She later married and moved to District Heights and Waldorf, Maryland. When she first arrived in Maryland she worked at "Orange Julius" in Landover Mall, later she was employed at the US House of Representatives as a cashier in the food carryout service of the Longworth Building where she worked for many years, and Sam's Club in Waldorf, Maryland employed Maria until she could not work due to illness. Maria treasured her family and good friends very much. Prior to her health declining, Maria was an energetic woman who participated through the years with The Dean Martin Festival celebrations, The Italian Heritage Festivals in Wheeling, West Virginia, and was a member of the Italian Cultural Club in Steubenville. Maria loved going dancing with her late friend and companion, Billy Williams, they also enjoyed playing BINGO and going to Mountaineer to play the slot machines.
She was a fan of the Redskins, the Beatles who she saw in Pittsburgh in 1964. Maria was so proud to learn to drive and purchased her first car, a Mustang. She really thought she was a race car driver. Her family and friends will always remember her as a sensitive woman very likely, once you became her friend, to offer you a loving embrace, she loved "hugs."
