Howard Raymond Thompson of Charlotte Hall, Maryland, formerly of Leonardtown and La Plata, died on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown. He was 93 years old. Born on September 17, 1922 in Harrisonburg, VA he was the son of the late Virginia M. Sellers Thompson and the late Benjamin H. Thompson Sr.

Mr. Thompson served in the U. S. Army during World War II before being Honorably Discharged in 1945. He later worked for Stewart Petroleum as an oil truck driver. He was a member of the American Legion and of the Presbyterian faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his children Deborah Nordan and Ronald Thompson; his sister Margaret Sumpter; his three grandchildren Danielle, Logan and Rachel.

A private interment will take place at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service.
