Frederick G. W. Gleitsmann, of La Plata, Maryland died on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall. He was 75 years old. Born on July 8, 1939 in Malden, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Barbara and the late Walter Gleitsmann.

Along with his father, Fred Gleitsmann worked as an usher at Fenway Park during the Boston Red Sox games. He was an avid Boston sports fan. Mr. Gleitsmann served in the U. S. Air Force with 5 years of active duty and 15 years in reserve. He was Honorably Discharged at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He received his B. S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Boston University. He then worked with the Department of Navy as an Engineer. Mr. Gleitsmann was a member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gleitsmann was preceded in death by his step-father Jim Buffington; his step-brothers Jim Buffington and Jack Buffington. He is survived by his wife Michele E. Gleitsmann; his son Kevin Michael Gleitsmann; his sisters-in-law Carole Raucheisen and Carolyn Buffington.

Visitation on Thursday from 10AM until time of Mass at 11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph Way, Pomfret, MD 20675 with Father Harry Stokes. Service and interment will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 beginning at 1PM at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Parish 4590 St. Joseph Way Pomfret, MD 20675. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service.
