John Robert Sponsel, III, 31, of Sunderland, MD died on January 21, 2015 at his home. John was born on September 19, 1983 in Washington, D.C., son of John Robert Sponsel, II and Susan I. Sponsel-Johnson.

John was an Elevator Mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his son, tinkering on cars and working on computers. He had a great sense of humor and loved the Ravens.

John is survived by his son, Joshua Sponsel and his mother, Rachael Sponsel; his brothers, James Guerrant, Matt Guerrant and Bryce Johnson; and a sister, Valerie Lauryne Sponsel-Davis.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM, at South Potomac Church, 4915 Crain Highway, White Plains, MD 20695. Interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements provided by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A.
