Barbara Ann Carson, 96, of La Plata, MD (formerly of Perryopolis, PA) died on December 29, 2014 in Waldorf, MD.

She was a retired fifth grade school teacher with the Frazier Board of Education in Pennsylvania. During World War II, she worked for the Red Cross in England where she met her husband. They both enjoyed traveling and their retirement home in Arizona. She was a member of the Perryopolis United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania and attended Grace Lutheran Church in La Plata. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Charles S. Brown and the late Florence Johnson Brown. She is also predeceased by her husband, Allen G. Carson. She is survived by her son, Robert Carson and his wife Diane; her daughter, Cheryl Swartzwelder and her husband William; her grandchildren, Eric, Matthew, David, and Anne Swartzwelder and Amanda Wong; and her great-grandchildren, Scott, Elise, Zachary, Heidi, and Lily Swartzwelder, and Olivia Wong.
