William "Bill" Earnest Montgomery, 71, of La Plata, MD died suddenly on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Washington Hospital Center. He was born July 9, 1943 in La Plata, MD to the late Leo Sisco and Violet Nutwell Montgomery.

He was the Chairman and Professor of Biological and Physical Sciences at College of Southern Maryland (CSM). Bill received numerous awards for his work and several service awards from CSM. He was a member of St Mary's Newport Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ondrejcak and Doris Stover and two brothers, Joseph Montgomery and Harry Montgomery and a step daughter, Jennifer Peddicord. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Susan Montgomery, step-son, Robert Peddicord (Stacy), three sisters, Mary Helen Potter, Frances Card and Rose Burroughs, and three grandchildren, Abigail Taylor, Jacob and Alayna Peddicord.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being requested in Bill's honor to a charity of your choice. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 2-4 and from 6-8 PM with a prayer service at 7:00PM at Raymond Funeral Service P.A., 5635 Washington Ave. Plata, MD 20646.

A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:30AM at St Mary's Bryantown Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617.
