Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club (CBAC) is a local competitive swim organization that presently trains at St. Mary's College of Maryland. CBAC offers year-round instruction, training, and competition to young people ages 5 and older. The CBAC program is designed by a professional coaching staff, which is interested in developing successful people as well as successful swimmers. CBAC is a memer of United States Swimming, Inc. and Maryland Swimming, Inc. and is a competitive swim team committed to providing the highest quality competitive program for its swimmers. CBAC swimmers have competed in Zone Championships, Junior and Senior National Championships, and the World Cup. The Great Mills Swimming Pool provides opportunities for recreational, therapeutic, instructional and competitive swimming for all ages. The 25 yard x 25 meter pool includes six lanes and has a 'zero depth' entry for maximum accessibility. The pool is covered with an air-inflated 'bubble' from September until May to allow year round usage. The facility's bathhouse includes showers, lockers, restrooms and a lifeguard room; a toddler pool is also part of the aquatic facility and will be open during the summer months. See the website for a schedule of swimming and aqua aerobics classes. The pool is located on County-owned property adjacent to Great Mills High School.

Swimming, picnicking, vending machines, restrooms, walking and jogging trails. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool also offers many classes to teach your child basic swimming and survival skills. For toddlers and young preschoolers, this will involve introduction to the water environment, and instruction to the parent on how to work with the child in the swimming pool. This course is not designed to "teach" these age groups how to swim, but rather to have safe fun in the water in preparation for future courses. The Intro-Preschool (4-5 yr.) and the Level I class (6 & up) will begin receiving basic instruction on submerging, breath-holding, opening eyes underwater, and supported floating, kicking and arm-stroking methods. In advanced courses (Advanced Preschool, and Levels II through VI) students will perfect skills they have already acquired through previous swimming experience, and learn advanced swimming techniques.
