Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (SALT). This program establishes open lines of communication and cooperation among the law enforcement community, seniors, and state and local agencies in order to maximize the use of available resources and ensure that the needs of homebound seniors are monitored and appropriate referrals made. Each volunteer Deputy will adopt one or more seniors. These officers will be provided background information on their adopted seniors explaining any special needs or medical problems. Each officer will call or visit the senior on a regular basis. During these contacts elderly citizens can voice their concerns, fears, and needs.[ Last Updated: 07-Jan-2004 | Reader Comments Report Problem
