The African American Heritage Society of Charles County, Inc. is a non-profit organization with a dedicated mission to foster public awareness and understanding of the African American way of life; the culture and historical contributions of African Americans to the growth and development of Southern Maryland and the nation.The society has served Charles County's schools, libraries, senior citizen facilities and sponsored historical exhibitions throughout the state, the Smithsonian museum and many educational centers for well over thirty years.
Note: 19-FEB-2013: The Heritage House, which is at the address listed, is currently closed for renovations. They hope to be open to the public in summer of 2013.

The Barony of Dun Carraig is the Southern Maryland chapter of the SCA, a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to the study and re-enactment of life in the Middle Ages and early Renaissance.
