Local Navy Contract Awards

WASHINGTON (April 10, 2017)—The U.S. Department of Defense recently announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.

Contracts for April 3, 2017

Astro Machine Works Inc., Ephrata, Pennsylvania (N00178-17-D-0024); and Merrill Aviation Inc., Saginaw, Michigan (N00178-17-D-0025), are being awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts for the manufacture, assembly, inspection, and delivery of gun weapon system components and future redesigned and upgraded assemblies that derive from research, prototyping, and developmental stages of Battle Management Systems programs. The delivery orders, when combined for both contracts, will not exceed $41,651,000 and will be awarded competitively on firm-fixed-price basis. Work will be performed in Ephrata, Pennsylvania; and Saginaw, Michigan, and is expected to be completed by March 2022. Fiscal 2017 procurement (Air Force) funding in the amount of $241,695 will be obligated at time of award to Astro Machine Works Inc., and funding in the amount of $89,646 will be obligated at time of award to Merrill Aviation Inc., and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with three proposals received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, Virginia, is the contracting activity.

Contracts for April 5, 2017

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $129,430,321 modification to a cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order (N0001917F0108) against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N00019-14-G-0020). This order provides for additional work on the TR-3 integrated core processor and related subsystems to alleviate diminishing manufacturing sources constraints projected under F-35 production Lot 15 for the Air Force ($51,772,129; 40 percent); Navy ($25,865,355; 20 percent); Marine Corps ($25,865,355; 20 percent); and international partners ($25,927,482; 20 percent). Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas, and is expected to be completed in March 2019. Fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds (Air Force, Navy and Marine Corp); and international partner funds in the amount of $27,005,628 are being obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
