LA PLATA, Md. (Nov. 16, 2016)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

HOUSE KEEPER CHARGED WITH THEFT, CCSO SEEKING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The CCSO is seeking additional information relating to multiple thefts in which the suspect, Victoria DeMarr, 52, of Kentucky, stole jewelry while she was employed as a house keeper in the southern Maryland area. The thefts were reported last year and earlier this year, but DeMarr fled to another state and was extradited back to Maryland in October. DeMarr stole jewelry from clients and pawned the items, none which were recovered. Since her arrest, officers have developed information about other thefts possibly involving DeMarr. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of these thefts is asked to call Officer J. Wilson at (240) 587-7970.

COMMERCIAL ARMED ROBBERY, CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD: On November 14 at 9:05 p.m., a male wearing all black clothing and a black ski mask entered a liquor store in the 2100 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf. He displayed a gun, locked the front door then pointed the shotgun at the store clerk and demanded money. There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery. K-9 units and patrol officers conducted a search for the suspect with negative results. Detectives recovered evidence from the scene and are in the process of trying to identify the suspect, who is described as a black male, early to mid 20's, medium build, wearing a black open-face ski mask, a black jacket, black pants, black shoes with white soles, and red-knit gloves. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. J. Riffle at 301-609-6501. PATROL OFFICERS CHARGE SUSPECT WITH BURGLARY: On November 14 at 2 p.m., officers responded to the 5400 block of Washington Avenue in La Plata for a burglary in progress. The victim advised he arrived home and observed a man on his front porch. Further investigation showed the suspect had broken into a side porch and stole several bottles of liquor. A computer check revealed the suspect was wanted for a burglary in La Plata. Thomas Lee Cromwell, 36, of Mechanicsville, was charged with burglary and theft. Officer B. Rash investigated.

PATROL OFFICERS LOCATE BURGLARY SUSPECT: On November 14, officers responded to the 6000 block of Red Squirrel Place in Waldorf for the report of a burglary at a vacant house. Information was obtained and a suspect was identified. On November 15, officers checked the house and found the suspect, Rase Watkins, 27, who has no fixed address, inside. He was subsequently charged with burglary. Pfc. P. Sady investigated.

OFFICERS APPREHEND THEFT SUSPECTS: On Nov. 14 at 7:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of Mall Circle for the report of a theft that just occurred. A lookout of the suspects and their vehicle was dispatched. Pfc J. Johnson observed the car and initiated a traffic stop, but the driver fled. The suspects drove to St. Nicholas Drive where the road became a dead-end. Officers apprehended the suspects and recovered approximately $5,000 worth of stolen merchandise. The driver, Daequan Shaquille Hawkins, 23, of North Carolina was charged with theft and traffic violations. Sarita Ashley Rice, 20; Jermyra Shalisa Smith, 20; Shyneira Teshauna Smith, 24; and Darnesha Monet Solomon, 19, all from Baltimore, were charged with multiple counts of theft and theft scheme.

THEFT: Between November 8 and November 9, unknown suspect(s) stole a lawnmower from a house in the 2300 block of Springbrook Court in Waldorf. The suspects also attempted to steal the wheels from a vehicle parked on the driveway. Pfc. C. Gustafson is investigating.

BURGLARY: On November 9 between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 4600 block of Chicamuxen Road in Marbury and stole a gun and electronics. Cpl. C. Walter is investigating.
