LA PLATA, Md. (Oct. 27, 2016)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.
SEARCH WARRANT REVEALS STOLEN GUNS and DRUGS: On October 8, several guns were stolen during a burglary at a house in the 10400 block of Willetts Crossing Road in White Plains. Detectives pursued leads and identified a possible suspect. During the investigation, the suspect was involved in a car crash in St. Mary's County, and one of the guns stolen from the burglary was found in the driver's possession. On October 25 officers from the Charles County Sheriff's Office and St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Team executed a search and seizure warrant at the suspect's house in St. Mary's County. Robert Joseph Baker, 23, of Great Mills, was subsequently charged with first-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, theft, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. As a result of the arrest, two other suspects were also identified in the burglary. Another search warrant was executed in Calvert County, where a stolen gun was recovered. Zachary Tyler May, 24, of Lusby was charged with first degree burglary, theft, possession of a stolen firearm and malicious destruction of property. The third suspect, Andrew Mark Herold, 27, of Lexington Park, is currently incarcerated in St. Mary's County.
POSSESSION OF DRUGS: On October 24 at 11:44 p.m., Officer C. Curtis made a routine traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Berry Road near Bensville Road in Waldorf. Upon making contact with the driver, PFC Curtis detected a strong odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed over 100 grams of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. The driver, Patrick Stacy Bacon, 24, of Upper Marlboro, and the passenger, Bria Diamond Anderson, 21, of Arlington, Va., were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Bacon was also charged with several related traffic violations.
BURGLARY: On October 24 at 10:42 p.m., officers responded to an establishment in the 2000 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for an intrusion alarm. Investigation revealed an unknown suspect used a crow bar to break the glass door. Once inside, the suspect ransacked the office. Nothing appeared to be missing. The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black gloves and a green Halloween mask. Officer R. Harris is investigating.
OFFICERS CONDUCT WARRANT SWEEP AS PART OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH: Between 10 p.m. October 18 and 6 a.m. October 19, officers from the Charles County Sheriff's Office and the Prince George's County Police Department conducted a warrant sweep and made 43 attempts to serve people with outstanding domestic-related warrants. A total of 13 fugitives were located. Officers from the Domestic Violence Unit and Child Support Enforcement Unit take part in warrant sweeps every October during the National Family Violence Apprehension Detail in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In addition, during the month-long operation, 50 additional warrants were served.
