Local Navy Contract Awards

WASHINGTON (Sept. 11, 2016)—The U.S. Department of Defense recently announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.

Contracts For Sept. 8

L-3 Communications Vertex Aerospace LLC, Madison, Mississippi, is being awarded $13,092,119 for modification P00020 to a previously awarded indefinite-delivery requirements, firm-fixed price, cost-reimbursable contract (N00019-12-D-0016) to exercise an option for maintenance, repair, and logistics support for the Chief of Naval Air Training aircraft's intermediate maintenance departments located at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida; and NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. Support to be provided includes labor, equipment, tools, services, and direct and indirect material. Work will be performed at NAS Pensacola, Florida (60 percent); and NAS Corpus Christi, Texas (40 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2017. No funds are being obligated at time of award; funds will be obligated against individual task orders as they are issued. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $10,019,765 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-13-C-0008) to exercise an option to procure additional diminishing manufacturing sources electronic components in support of the F-35 Lightning II aircraft. Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas, and is expected to be completed in December 2018. Fiscal 2014 aircraft procurement (Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps.); fiscal 2015 aircraft procurement (Navy); and Fiscal 2016 aircraft procurement (Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps.) funds in the amount of $10,019,765 are being obligated at time of award, $1,762,053 of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract combines purchases for the Air Force ($5,860,335; 58.49 percent); Marine Corps ($2,844,069; 28.38 percent), and Navy ($1,315,361; 13.13 percent). The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting authority.

Contracts For Sept. 9

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., San Diego, California, is being issued a $108,118,000 fixed-price, incentive firm target contract for the procurement of 10 Fire Scout MQ-8C unmanned air systems. Work will be performed in San Diego, California (33 percent); Ozark, Alabama (27 percent); Fort Worth, Texas (18 percent); Moss Point, Mississippi (16 percent); and various locations within the U.S. (6 percent), and is expected to be completed in August 2019. Fiscal 2015 and 2016 aircraft procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $108,118,000 are being obligated at time of award; none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity (N00019-16-C-0055).

Northrup Grumman System Corp., Woodland Hills, California, is being awarded $18,264,420 for firm-fixed-price delivery order 3000 against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N00019-15-G-0026) for the procurement of tech refresh mission computers and trays in support of Lot 13 AH-1Z and UH-1Y aircraft for the Navy (67 percent); and the government of Pakistan (33 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales program. Work will be performed at Baltimore, Maryland (42 percent); Salt Lake City, Utah (38 percent); and Woodland Hills, California (20 percent), and is expected to be completed in December 2018. Fiscal 2016 aircraft procurement (Navy) funds and foreign military sales funds in the amount of $18,264,420 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
