The Maryland State Police Prince Frederick Barrack will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday, September 2, in Calvert County.
The Calvert County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint during the late evening hours on Friday, September 2. This checkpoint will be memorializing Officer Noah Leotta who was killed while conducting impaired driving enforcement during the month of December 2015 in Montgomery County. Ofc. Leottea's family and coworkers lobbied for legislation which will become effective October 1st. The legislation requires interlock devices to be placed in the vehicles of convicted impaired drivers.
St. Mary's County
No public announcements have been received from either the sheriff's office or the state police as of publication time. However, we expect that police in all Maryland counties will be performing sobriety enforcement throughout the holiday weekend.
Montgomery County
The Maryland State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday, September 1.
