BAY-CSS Board President Receives MACS Volunteer Achievement Award

HOLLYWOOD, Md. (July 29, 2016)—On Thursday, June 23, Ike Puzon, Bay Community Support Services board president, and president of Puzon Associates of Ft. Washington, received the MACS Volunteer Achievement Award from the Maryland Association of Community Services (MACS) at a ceremony held at Fisherman's Crab Deck in Grasonville. Ike and his fellow award recipients were recognized for their volunteerism and exceptional commitment to the community.

As a volunteer, Ike provides his leadership skills to many causes he believes are important. As the board president of Bay Community Support Services, he has instituted many new initiatives to move the agency forward in a variety of ways. He has volunteered countless hours leading in the development of a new agency strategic plan, fund raising, the recruitment of new members and advocating at the State level.

"As a volunteer Board President of a non-profit corporation during this tough economic and competitive climate, Ike has directed us toward great successes and achievements", said Mitzi Bernard, Executive Director. "We are thrilled to have someone with his background and skills leading our team!"

In addition, Ike is active with his church vestry where he is a licensed pastoral lay minister providing outreach to people in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and individual's personal homes. He also provides transportation for seniors and ran an integrated youth program at Sunday school. He initiated and participated in various programs of blessing in his church to include blessing of first responders. Somehow he still finds time to volunteer on numerous other boards including Nexus Health.

One of he and his wife Diann's greatest personal accomplishments is the adoption of their two children many years ago who also happen to have disabilities. They have been active in supporting them to become participating members of their communities.

Ike's professional achievements are numerous, but most notable is a military career that spanned 30 years of active service in the United States Navy, the Secretary of Defense, and Joint Staffs. He held command of a Navy P-3 squadron and commanded the Naval Air Station, Atlanta where over 2000 service members were attached. He has worked with US ambassadors, the US State Department, served as military advisors to congress, foreign markets and office of Secretary of Defense.

Ike's own company, Puzon Associates, provides Washington, DC representation, lobbying, and international strategic business development and congressional relations. He is a recipient of US State Department Meritorious Honor Award and numerous military awards.
