Bomb Threat in La Plata; Suspect Identified; Charges Pending

LA PLATA, Md. (July 13, 2016)—On Tuesday at 11 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers were notified of a threat to "blow up" the Department of Social Services building in La Plata. Officers notified the Department of Social Services, at which time the building was evacuated as a precaution. The building was searched, and no explosives were found.

A suspect has been identified, and charges are pending.
