UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (July 10, 2016)—An Oxon Hill man was arrested today in connection with the murder of his estranged wife. The suspect is 41-year-old Daron Lincoln Odom of the 7400 block of Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill. The victim is 41-year-old Jamila Odom of Beechwood Court in Waldorf.

At about 10:10 pm on July 9th, police responded to the 7400 block of Oxon Hill Road for the report of a shooting. They found the victim inside of a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. After the shooting, the suspect drove to the Prince George's District IV police station in Oxon Hill and turned himself in.

The suspect is charged with first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, and use of a firearm in a violent crime. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 5. The assigned case number is 0E00593936.
