LA PLATA, Md. (June 8, 2016)—The College of Southern Maryland signed 10 players to the 2016-17 women's basketball team, including: Tamara Burns, guard, (Fairfax High School, Virginia) Gabby Coley, guard, (Chancellor High School, Virginia); Brittany Coles, forward/center, (Westlake High School); Doretha Curry, guard, (Gwynn Park High School, Clinton); Saundra "Sinai" Downs, guard, (McDonough High School); Paris Ferguson, forward, (Great Mills High School); Kiona Montgomery, guard, (Lackey High School); Haley Oliver, guard, (transfer from Louisburg College); Erica Silver, forward/center, (Parkdale High School, Riverdale); and Akilah Stroman, forward, (St. Mary's Ryken High School).
"This group of players will have a tremendous impact to our program in the 2016-17 season and will help our program continue to lay the foundation for success academically and on the court," said Head Coach Ardell Jackson, in his second season at CSM. "We are very excited that [the students] have chosen to join the College of Southern Maryland Women's Basketball Program and are looking forward to what each and every one of them will bring to the to the table next season."
