Waldorf Woman Dies in Motorcycle Crash in Brandywine Tuesday Night


BRANDYWINE, Md. (June 8, 2016)—Amber D. Reese, 32, of Waldorf, died Tuesday night as a result of injuries received when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a disabled pickup truck on MD 301 in Brandywine. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The crash occurred around 11:09 p.m. in the area of southbound MD Route 301 at McKendree Road.

A trooper from the Forestville barrack arriving on the scene found Reese suffering traumatic injuries. She was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma where she was later pronounced deceased by doctors. Reese's next of kin was notified of her death.

The driver of the disabled 1999 Toyota Tacoma truck was Felix E. Cummings, 57, of Port Tobacco.

Investigators determined that Reese was traveling southbound on MD Route 301, when the Honda motorcycle collided with the Toyota truck which was disabled in the roadway.

Due to the severity of the collision, a member of MSP's Crash Team was contacted and is investigating the collision.

Southbound MD Route 301 was partially shut down for approximately 3 hours.
