The lucky babysitter from Huntingtown matched a winning number on a Double Your Dollars scratch-off to capture the game's $50,000 top prize.
"I had to blink my eyes and look twice," said the winner. As she scanned all of the zeros on the prize, she could only think of one word — Wow!
Parents can rest assured that just because the 24-year-old won a hefty Lottery prize she won't be changing bedtimes and babysitting rules. The young winner plans to continue babysitting and will use the prize to purchase a new car.
She found her good fortune at ABD Liquors located at 110 West Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick. The lucky lady has won small scratch-off prizes previously and reports that this one tops them all. The Lottery retailer will share in the excitement and receive a $500 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
