Pedestrian Killed on MD 228 in Waldorf Sunday Night

WALDORF, Md. (April 25, 2016)—A 36-year-old Waldorf man died in the early morning hours as a result injuries received when he was struck by a car on Maryland Route 228 in the area of Bonnie Lane in Waldorf, Charles County. The man has been identified as Brian Page, Jr.

The accident occurred around 11:02 p.m. Sunday.

A preliminary police investigation indicates a Toyota Matrix operated by Linda Mitry, 70, and occupied by Corey Johnson, 21, both of Indian Head, was traveling on westbound Maryland Route 228 in the area of Bonnie Lane in lane number 2. A pedestrian, later identified as Mr. Page, entered the roadway and walked in the travel path of the Toyota Matrix. The vehicle subsequently struck Mr. Page.

Mr. Page was flown by MSP Trooper 2 to MEDSTAR in Washington, D.C. where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 2:00 a.m.

The initial investigation was conducted by troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack, with the assistance from members of the MSP Southern Region Crash Unit.

The investigation is continuing and being investigated by Trooper S. Williams. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to contact Trooper Williams at (301) 392-1200.
