CALLAWAY, Md. (Feb. 8, 2016)—A 42-year-old man suffered a single gunshot wound to his back last Thursday in Indian Head. Police determined that Thomas Michael Smith, 69, of Indian Head, was the shooter. The incident took place in the 6300 block of Barnett Smith Place.
The victim was flown to a hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation revealed that the shooting took place during an argument between Smith and the victim, who was an acquaintance.
Smith was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
