LA PLATA, Md. (Dec. 9, 2015)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
THEFT FROM AUTO: Sometime between Dec. 7 and Dec. 8, unknown suspect(s) stole a wallet from an unlocked car in the 6100 block of Gail Lane in Indian Head. Officer R. Pickeral is investigating.
ATTEMPT BANK ROBBERY: On Dec. 7 at 3:15 p.m., a man entered the Wells Fargo Bank in the 3000 block of Waldorf Market Place in Waldorf. He approached a teller and passed a note demanding money. The teller panicked and returned the note to the suspect without giving him any cash. The suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his twenties to thirties, 5'9" to 5'11", with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black knit hat, dark jacket, white tennis shoes and tan or green pants. Officers canvassed the area and are working on leads. Det. C. Gregory is investigating.
BURGLARY: Sometime between Nov. 22 to Dec. 9, unknown suspect(s) stole a freezer from a detached garage in the 3000 block of Downs Road in Bryans Road. Officer R. Pickeral is investigating.
ROBBERY: On Dec. 8 at about 8:50 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Hampton Drive in Waldorf for the report of a citizen robbery. Investigation showed two males exited a gray or tan colored SUV, approached the victim and displayed a gun. The suspects stole the victims cell phone and fled. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. All individuals who provide tips through Crime Solvers will remain anonymous.
DETECTIVES LOCATE STOLEN MOTORCYCLES AND ATVS: On Dec. 8, detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division developed information regarding the whereabouts of several stolen motorcycles and ATVs. Investigators obtained a search warrant and located the stolen vehicles in the 9000 block of Penns Hill Road in La Plata. Detectives have identified a suspect and are continuing to pursue additional leads. Charges are pending. Det. E. Weaver is investigating.
