LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 7, 2015)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
Armed Robbery on Sugar Maple Court in California
On December 6, at approximately 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to Sugar Maple Court in California for the report of subjects being assaulted with a baseball bat. The initial caller advised the victims had fled the scene. A few minutes later a call came in from the Wawa at Route 235/Route 4 advising a subject was bleeding from an injury. Officers responded to both locations and made contact with Norman Kenneth Dickerson, age 54, and Michael Ray Anthony, age 49. Dickerson displayed with what appeared to be non-life-threatening facial injuries and was transported via Trooper 7 to Prince George’s County Shock Trauma. />
The subjects advised they were leaving a residence on Sugar Maple Court in California when they were approached by two young white males in the parking lot. One suspect displayed a gun, and the other had a baseball bat. Dickerson and the suspect with the gun engaged in a physical altercation. Simultaneously, the second suspect then struck the victim numerous times with the bat. They subsequently stole an undisclosed amount of cash, a cellphone, and then fled the scene on foot.
The Criminal Investigations Division assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
Shooting in Lexington Park
On December 6, at approximately 3:02 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Canopy Liquors in Lexington Park in reference to a subject reporting they had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Kevin Jerome Chase, age 45, outside of Canopy Liquors displaying a gunshot wound to the upper body. The subject was transported to Washington Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries. The Criminal Investigations Division has assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
