LEXINGTON PARK, Md. (Dec. 4, 2015)—Walden's CEO, Dr. Kathleen O'Brien was recently appointed as a member of the Behavioral Health Advisory Committee by the State of Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Dr O'Brien will be serving as the representative of the Maryland Addictions Council.
"This is another demonstration of Dr. O' Brien's commitment and dedication to the development and expansion of multi-service behavioral health organizations through out the State," according to a statement released by Walden.
In addition to being appointed as a member of the Behavioral Health Advisory Committee, Dr. O'Brien serves on other state and local boards including: Healthshare, Camp Maria Board, the Maryland Juvenile Coalition and the MD Network against Domestic Violence.
Walden offers a comprehensive array of behavioral health treatment, and recovery services to individuals and families throughout the community. These services include crisis intervention, psychiatric and mental health therapy, trauma services related to relationship abuse or sexual assault, drug and alcohol services and community and recovery support services such as the free and open to the public Beacon of Hope and The Cove/DFZ Recovery and Wellness Centers.
