Wednesday Morning Fire in Dameron Displaces Family



CALLAWAY, Md. (Dec. 2, 2015)—A Wednesday morning fire in a single story, single family home located at 16841 Three Notch Road, Dameron, St. Mary's County caused an estimated $50,000 in damages to the home and $30,000 in damages to the contents.

It took 25 firefighters from Ridge, Bay District, Second District, and Hollywood VFD's and Patuxent River Naval Air Station approximately five minutes to bring the fire under control.

The fire was discovered by a passing motorist. The cause of the fire was determined to be the result of an electrical malfunction at an electrical outlet in a bathroom.

The occupants were displaced and are being assisted by family and friends.

The fire was investigated by Deputy Fire Marshal J. Nelson.
