Calvert County Government
The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners announces that county offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. In addition:
• The three county senior centers will close Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Meals on Wheels will not be delivered either day.
• County public transportation will not operate on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Normal operating hours resume on Saturday, Nov. 28.
• Calvert Library locations will close Thursday, Nov. 26 for the holiday and will reopen Saturday, Nov. 28 with normal business hours.
• Mt. Hope, Northeast and Southern community centers will close Thanksgiving Day. Only Northeast Community Center will be open Friday, Nov. 27. All community centers will be open Saturday, Nov. 28 with normal business hours.
• All county convenience centers and Appeal Landfill will close Thanksgiving and will reopen for normal business hours Friday, Nov. 27.
• Flag Ponds Nature Park, Kings Landing Park and Battle Creek Cypress Swamp will close Thanksgiving Day. Flag Ponds Nature Park and Kings Landing Nature Park will open with regular hours Friday, Nov. 27 while Battle Creek Cypress Swamp will remain closed.
• Edward Hall Aquatic Center and the Calvert Marine Museum will close Thanksgiving Day and will resume normal hours Friday, Nov. 27.
• Chesapeake Hills Golf Course will be open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and will operate normal business hours Friday, Nov. 27.
Charles County Government
The Charles County Commissioners wish to remind residents of the following offices and facility schedule changes for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27.
Thursday, Nov. 26:
• All Charles County Government offices and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville will be closed
• VanGO services will not be operating
• The Charles County Landfill and Recycling Center on Billingsley Road in Waldorf, and the Pisgah Recycling Center on Route 425 in Pisgah will be closed
• Curbside recycling will be delayed one day. Thursday pickups will take place on Friday and Friday pickups on Saturday
• The Crain Memorial Welcome Center will be closed
• The Nanjemoy Community Center, Elite Gymnastics and Recreation Center, Port Tobacco Recreation Center and all other Community Centers are closed
• All Senior Centers are closed
• Lackey, Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, and North Point High indoor pools will be closed
• The White Plains golf Course will take tee times up until 12 p.m.
• Charles County Skate Park will be closed
• All other parks are open for walk-in use and may have some areas restricted for vehicle access
• Charles County Public Library (All branches) will be closed
• Charles County Health Department will be closed
Friday, Nov. 27:
• All Charles County Government offices and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville will be closed
• VanGO will resume normal operations
• Elite Gymnastics and Recreation Center will open at 6:30 a.m. for Campnastics Drop In and scheduled evening gymnastic classes
• The Nanjemoy Community Center, Port Tobacco Recreation Center and all other Community Centers are closed
• All Senior Centers are closed
• Lackey, Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, and North Point High indoor pools will be open from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
• All other parks are open for walk-in use and may have some areas restricted for vehicle access
• Charles County Public Library (All branches) will be closed
• The Crain Memorial Welcome Center and Port Tobacco Village (Port Tobacco Courthouse, Burch House, Stagg Hall) are open
• Charles County Health Department will be closed
• The Charles County Landfill and Recycling Center on Billingsley Road in Waldorf, and the Pisgah Recycling Center on Route 425 in Pisgah will be operating under a normal schedule
• Every-other-week curbside recycling collection
• The Thursday A Week Schedule will have their recyclables picked up on Friday, Nov. 27. Those on the Friday A Week Schedule will have their recyclables picked up on Saturday, Nov. 28.
• Yard Waste Collection
• Thursday yard waste collection will be picked up on Friday, Nov. 27. Those with Friday yard waste collection will be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 28. St. Mary's County Government
All St. Mary's County Government Administrative Offices will be closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. County offices will re-open Monday, November 30.
The St. Andrews Landfill, six Convenience Centers and St. Mary's Transit System (STS) will not operate Thursday, November 26 but will be open for normal business hours on Wednesday, November 25 and Friday, November 27. The Statewide Specialized Transportation Assistance Program (SSTAP) will not operate on Thursday, November 26 or Friday, November 27. The service will resume it normal operating schedule on Monday, November 30.
All St. Mary's County Public Library locations (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown and Lexington Park) will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, and remain closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. The libraries will re-open Saturday, November 28 for regular business hours. The Lexington Park library will be open from 1 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 29.
All three Senior Activity Centers (Garvey, Loffler and Northern) will be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 and there will be no Meals on Wheels deliveries. The centers will reopen for normal operations on Monday, November 30.
College of Southern Maryland
CSM will be closed
for classes, including all administrative offices and services, Wednesday,
Nov. 25 through Sunday, Nov. 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The college will resume its normal schedule Monday, Nov. 30.

Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration
The MVA will close all MVA offices and Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) stations on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in observance of the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. All MVA offices and VEIP stations will return to normal operations on Friday, November 27.
