St. Mary's Co. Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Aug. 13, 2015)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

Arrests

FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT:

Brandi Marie Beckett, age 31, of no fixed address.

On August 8, Corporal David Corcoran responded to Erickson Court in Lexington Park, for an assault. The investigation revealed suspect Brandi Marie Beckett, age 31, of no fixed address, was in the roadway when the 2 male victims arrived in a vehicle at the Erickson Road address. Beckett approached the vehicle with a knife in her hand threatening to slash the tires. Both victim’s got out of the vehicle at which time Beckett moved to the driver’s side and was about to slash the tires when one of the victim’s ran towards her. He grabbed her arms but Beckett was able to pull away, cutting the victim’s forearm. Beckett continued to swing the knife at the victim as she made her way back to the vehicle to slash the tires. The victim pursued Beckett and was able to pin her to the ground until deputies arrived. When Corporal Corcoran arrived on the scene, the victim was holding Beckett down on the ground with the knife in her hand. Beckett was placed under arrest. Corporal Corcoran also determined Beckett was at the residence in violation of an active peace order. She was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Violation of a Peace Order, and Property Destruction. CASE #46492-15

DOMESTIC ASSAULT:

Leroy NMN Logan, age 43, of Lexington Park, Md.

On August 8, Deputy Wesner responded to a residence on Croaker Court in Lexington Park, for a reported assault. The victim alleged suspect Leroy NMN Logan, age 43, of Lexington Park, grabbed the victim by the neck during a dispute over a cable box. Logan then struck the victim in the face with the cable box. Deputy Wesner observed injuries on the victim’s face. Logan was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault. CASE #46362-15

VIOLATION PROTECTIVE ORDER:

Jessica Nicole Copsey, age 26, of Prince Frederick, Md.

On August 8, Deputy J. Wilson responded to a home in the 29000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville, for a reported violation of a protective order. The victim alleged suspect Jessica Nicole Copsey, age 26, of Prince Frederick, called and sent text messages to the victim in violation of an active protective order. The order stipulates Copsey is to have no contact with the victim. Copsey was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. She was charged with Violation of Protective Order. CASE #46395-15

8/11/2015 THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE: Unknown suspect(s) stole a 1992 Toyota Camry from the 23000 block of Hollywood Road. CASE #46703-15

8/11/2015 BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a garage on Millstone Landing Road and stole property. CASE #46903-15

8/11/2015 VANDALISM: Unknown suspect(s) damaged a sign, park bench, and a portion of the grass field on the property of the St. Clement's Island Museum. The damage appears to have been caused by a vehicle. CASE #46909-15

8/11/2015 BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) entered a home in the 20000 block of Hermanville Road and stole property. CASE #46993-15

8/12/2015 THEFT: Between 8/7/2015 and 8/12/2015, unknown suspect(s) stole metal water valve covers, property of METCOM, from various locations throughout the Country Lakes neighborhood. CASE #47172-15

8/13/2015 THEFT: Unknown suspect(s) stole gaming systems and related items from a residence in the 21000 block of Liberty Street in Lexington Park. CASE #47269-15

8/13/2015 BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the Bay Mart in Ridge, and stole property. CASE #47319-15

8/13/2015 THEFT: Unknown suspect(s) stole a 40 foot 3 axle boat trailer from the 35000 block of Army Navy Drive. CASE #47226-15
