LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 21, 2015)The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Vice Narcotics Division released the following incident and arrest reports. The Division is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Marys County Sheriffs Office and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007.
PRESCRIPTION FRAUD: Detectives continue to investigate prescription fraud incidents involving a group of individuals attempting to obtain Promethazine-Codeine known on the street as "Purple Drank." Christopher Smith, age 25, of Laurel, was arrested after detectives apprehended him picking up the fraudulent prescription from a local pharmacy. Suspect Smith was charged on a civil citation for possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana. This investigation has numerous suspects in multiple jurisdictions. Additional arrests and charges are pending a review with the State's Attorney.
MARIJUANA: Chelsea Alissa Ganse, age 21, of Lexington Park, was indicted and charged Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute.
MARIJUANA: James William Blackiston, age 22, of Lexington Park, was identified as a distributor of marijuana. Undercover purchases were conducted and a subsequent search and seizure warrant was executed. Recovered from his residence was more than 27 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, a cell phone, a handgun and additional rounds of ammunition.
COCAINE: Jack Anthony White, age 31, of District Heights, was indicted for Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute.
