Board of Education to Hold Retreat
The Board of Education of St. Mary's County will hold a retreat on Monday, May 18, 2015, in the Administrative Conference Room of the Central Administration Office at 23160 Moakley Street, Leonardtown, MD. St. Mary's County Public Schools Summer Activities Registration is Open
The registration period for the 2015 Summer Activities is now open. Registration for the summer programs will be open between April 1, 2015 and June 1, 2015.
The second annual Foreign Language in Elementary Schools (FLES) Camp for students in grades 2 - 5 will be held at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center. The goal of this program is to provide elementary students the opportunity to experience learning a foreign language through an immersion environment using fun activities such as songs, role playing, and interactive games. The FLES Camp will offer French and Spanish sessions July 13-16, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Spaces are limited and wait lists will be formed after sessions are filled.
The ninth annual Space Camp Program provides STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) classes in a fun learning environment. The elementary program is available for students entering grades 2 - 6 and the secondary program is for students entering grades 9 - 11. Space Camp will be held at Great Mills High School over four days, Monday through Thursday. There will be two weeks of sessions. Elementary Week 1 and Secondary Week 1 (Rocketry) will be July 20-23, 2015. Elementary Week 2 and Secondary Week 2 (Robotics or Quad Copter) will be July 27-30, 2015. Registration for the 2015 Space Camp programs will continue until all spaces are filled. Wait lists will be formed after sessions are filled.
The fourth annual Tech Kids Summer Youth Enrichment Program for students ages 8 - 13 will be held at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center. This program provides fun, enriching, hands on opportunities for students. The following programs will be offered the week of July 13-16, 2015: Tech Kids Tool Time; Arts and Crafts; Engineering for Kids; Bits, Bytes, and Game Designs; I'll Stop the World; Inspired to Soar; Auto Refinishing; and Culinary Crew. Spaces are limited and wait lists will be formed after sessions are filled.
