MSP Reports for St. Mary's Co.


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 24, 2015)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

DISORDERLY: On Sunday, March 22 at 1:26 am, Tpr K. Morris responded to the ABC Liquor and Lounge for a disturbance. Upon arrival, Tpr. Morris observed a bouncer walking Bradley J. Schmid, 30, of California out of the bar. Investigation revealed that Mr. Schmid had been involved in a verbal altercation with a female subject and had been asked to leave 20 minutes prior to Tpr. Morris' arrival. Tpr. Morris made contact with Mr. Schmid, who immediately began yelling and cursing. A No Trespass Order was issued, and Tpr. Morris attempted to walk Mr. Schmid to the front of the establishment to wait for a cab. Mr. Schmid continued to yell and curse, and was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner (15-MSP-010142).

WEAPONS VIOLATION: On Sunday, March 22 at 1:13 pm, Tpr. A. Oyler initiated a traffic stop on a Silver SUV Route 5 at Morganza Turner Road for a minor traffic violation. The driver, Ludwig J. Scott, 37, of Glen Burnie, advised Tpr. Oyler that he did not have a driver's license and the vehicle was a rental. Tpr. Oyler had Mr. Scott step out of the vehicle to await disposition on the rental vehicle. While waiting, Mr. Scott asked Tpr. Oyler to retrieve an item from the vehicle. While retrieving the item, Tpr. Oyler observed suspected marijuana in the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and produced additional marijuana and a loaded semi-automatic firearm. Tpr. Oyler contacted the Maryland Gun Center, who advised Mr. Scott had been previously convicted of a CDS related felony and prohibited from possessing firearms. Mr. Scott was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Illegal Possession of Ammunition, CDS-Possession of Firearms, Regulated Firearm: Illegal Possession, Firearm Possession with Felony Conviction, Knowingly Altering Firearm ID Number, and Possessing a Handgun in Vehicle. He was also issued numerous traffic citations. Mr. Scott was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner (15-MSP-010190).
