MSP Reports for St. Mary's Co.


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 19, 2015)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT: On Tuesday, March 10 at 11:00 am, Tpr. C. Ruth responded to the 23000 block of Town Creek Drive for a reported assault. Investigation revealed Ryan Michael Dale, 22, of Lexington Park, had assaulted a male victim. Mr. Dale began to yell obscenities make aggressive motions towards the victim and Troopers on the scene. After a brief struggle, Mr. Dale was placed under arrest and charged with Second Degree Assault, Fail to Obey Lawful Order, and Resisting Arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (15-MSP-008604)

ASSAULT: On Friday, March 13 at 1:37 pm, Cpl. M. Grimes responded to the 23000 block of Castilla Way for a reported domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that Matthew James Baule, 31, of California, had assaulted a female victim. Mr. Baule was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with Second Degree Assault and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (15-MSP-008928)

THEFT: On Saturday, March 14 at 2:36 pm, TFC S. Ditoto responded to the Food Lion in Callaway to attempt to locate a wanted subject. Perry Dwight Brown, 50, of Tall Timbers was located and placed under arrest for a warrant through the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack for Failure to Appear in Court. During a search incident to arrest, TFC Ditoto discovered miscellaneous items concealed in Mr. Brown's clothing that had been stolen from the Food Lion. Mr. Brown was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Theft Under $100. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (15-MSP-009122)

DISORDERLY: On Saturday, March 14 at 12:36 am, Tpr. A. Oyler was traveling southbound Route 5 at Old Village Road. Tpr. Oyler had to take evasive action to avoid striking a male subject walking northbound in the roadway. Tpr. Oyler made contact with the subject, Matthew Justin Buchanan, 25, of Lusby, who appeared heavily intoxicated. Mr. Buchanan was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication and Endangering the Safety of the Public while Intoxicated. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (15-MSP-009058)

BURGLARY: On Sunday, March 15 at 2:55 pm, TFC R. Jackson responded to the Reliable Marine in California for a reported burglary. Investigation revealed that Mark W. Poleck, 28, of Lusby, and Natasha R. Barnes, 23, of Lusby, had stolen 1025 rounds of ammunition, engine pistons, engine mounts, and an engine crank shaft from the business. Mr. Poleck was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary Second Degree, Theft Over $1,000 But Under $10,000, and Illegal Possession of Ammunition. Ms. Barnes was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary Second Degree and Theft Over $1,000 But Under $10,000. Both subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (15-MSP-009280)

SATURATION PATROL: On Tuesday, March 17 at 7:00 pm, 15 troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack participated in a DUI Saturation Patrol focusing on all areas of St Mary's County. The Charlotte Hall, California, Leonardtown, Lexington Park, Mechanicsville, and Hollywood areas were targeted because they have been identified as high occurrence areas for DUI arrests and DUI related accidents. During this operation, troopers stopped 107 vehicles and issued 92 citations, 71 warnings and 21 Safety Equipment Repair Orders. 11 arrests were made for Driving Under the Influence. The Saturation Patrol concluded at 3:00 am.
