Charles Co. Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (Feb. 13, 2015)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT: On February 9 at 8:25 a.m., officers responded to a fast food restaurant in the 3000 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of an assault. Investigation revealed the victim was sitting down at a table when a man approached and made sexual remarks. The victim told the man to leave, but he didn’t. The woman went into the restroom, but the suspect followed her and attempted to sexually assault her. When the woman fought back, the suspect left the restroom and sat down at a table. The woman called police and the man fled. Officers obtained a description of the suspect and canvassed the area. Shortly after the assault, a patrol officer linked the description of the suspect to a known person and the victim positively identified the man as Brandon Wayne Danchak, 30, of Great Mills. An arrest warrant has been obtained charging Danchak with assault and fourth-degree sex offense.

On February 11 at 9:50 a.m., members of the CCSO Warrant Unit located Brandon Wayne Danchak at a shopping center. Danchak was wanted in connection with an assault that occurred on Feb. 9 at a fast food restaurant. He has been charged with assault and fourth-degree sex offense. Officer J. Piazza is investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY: On February 7 at 10:35 p.m., a pizza delivery man was making a delivery in the 7700 block of Piccadilly Court in White Plains when three males approached, displayed a gun and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspects fled. Officer B. Moore is investigating.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS: On February 5, between 5 a.m. and 5:35 a.m., unknown suspects broke into a garage in the 8700 block of Port Tobacco Road in La Plata and stole a red and black 1992 Honda Four Tracks 350 ATV and a yellow 1988 Suzuki RM125 dirt bike. A surveillance camera showed three black males cutting the lock off of a gate that led to the garage. Officer B. Cox is investigating.
