The Maryland Lottery opened its doors after the Thanksgiving holiday to welcome a Port Tobacco scratch-off player who won a cool $100,000.
The 82-year-old Charles County resident won the top prize on a $10 Winter Cash Tripler scratch-off bought at Ladys Liquors in La Plata. On March 18, that lucky store at 6474 Crain Highway sold one of two Mega Millions jackpot-winning tickets. The winners in Maryland and Florida split the $414 million jackpot. For selling this top-prize scratch-off, Ladys Liquors will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
The Winter Cash Tripler scratch-off still has one remaining $100,000 top-prize ticket awaiting discovery at a Maryland retailer. Another 18 $3,000 second-tier winners are also in stores.
