Service Experts Heating & Air Conditoning Acquires A-Plus AC & Heating

PLANO, Texas—Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning, one of North America's largest heating and air conditioning brands, has announced a strategic acquisition of A-Plus Air Conditioning & Heating Company with offices in Bryan's Road, Maryland and Springfield, Virginia. The purchase allows Service Experts to expand its footprint into northeast Virginia and south central Maryland, which includes several of the region's most densely populated areas.

Service Experts currently offers service in the Richmond (Eveready Service Experts) and Salem, Virginia markets and in Gaithersburg, Md. (Parker-Pearce Service Experts), but there is no overlap with the A-Plus service area, which includes Montgomery, Prince George's and Charles counties in Maryland, as well as Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William and Loudoun counties in Virginia.

"A-Plus represents a perfect compliment to the Service Experts business, both geographically and operationally," said Scott J. Boxer, President and CEO of Service Experts. "We plan to expand and grow the center, as well as seek strategic growth opportunities through other business development initiatives and acquisitions that fit our core business model."

A-Plus Air Conditioning & Heating Company, founded in 1976, offers full-service residential heating and air conditioning repairs, maintenance and new equipment sales and installation. Jay Stine, who joined the company in 1980, becomes the new Branch Manager. The company is a member of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, and community activities have included donations to the Seniors Golf League at White Plains Regional Golf for free memberships, donations to Strawberry Hills Civic Association for the Community National Night Out and sponsorship of a bowling team for 30 years in Waldorf, Maryland.

St. Charles Towne Plaza Announces Upcoming Renovation in 2015

New additions provide shoppers with more food and retail choices

WALDORF, Md.—St. Charles Towne Plaza mall management on Oct. 24 announced plans for a massive interior and exterior renovation. Set to begin in March of 2015, the shopping center renovations will include a variety of updates and new amenities. Additional details about the renovation will be announced in the near future. The project is anticipated to be completed by November of 2015.

“Our goal is to continue providing shoppers in the Waldorf area and surrounding communities with a positive and memorable shopping experience,” said Stephanie Yates, property manager at St. Charles Towne Plaza. “This renovation project serves to strengthen the Plaza’s reputation as an enhanced shopping destination.”

To further the Plaza’s commitment to better serving shoppers, St. Charles Towne Plaza is also set to welcome a variety of new and renovated stores and restaurants, including St. Charles Pharmacy, Panda Express and Ashley Furniture. These stores join the newly renovated Hibachi Buffet and recently opened PC Retro Computers and Isle of Vape. These new additions further enhance the appealing store roster at St. Charles Towne Plaza, offering local shoppers more food and retail options to complement the offerings at St. Charles Towne Center.

St. Charles Pharmacy is set to open next to Papa John’s Pizza by November 2014 to offer the community comprehensive pharmacy and prescription services.
