Drug Arrests in St. Mary's Co.


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Oct. 27, 2014)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Vice Narcotics Division today released the following incident and arrest reports. The Division is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007.

CRYSTAL METH, COCAINE: Information about drug activity in the Piney Point area was received by detectives. The source of the drug activity was identified as Shannon Danielle Parker, 38, of Piney Point. As the investigation continued, a vehicle stop was conducted by a member of the Vice/Narcotics Support Team on a vehicle in which suspect Parker was riding. A search revealed a digital scale, cocaine, methamphetamine and suboxone. Suspect Parker and another suspect, Thomas Ronald Morgan, a/k/a "Big Head," 50, of Piney Point, were arrested. A search and seizure warrant on the home led to nearly $1,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and other paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending a case review with the state's attorney.

COCAINE: Gerald Lawrence, 64, of Callaway, was indicted for Distribution of Cocaine.

COCAINE, OXYCODONE: John Wendell Young, 40, of Leonardtown, was indicted by detectives after he was found to be in possession of Cocaine and Oxycodone in sufficient amounts to indicate intent to distribute.

COCAINE: Travis Richardson, 28, of Lusby, was identified as a distributor of cocaine in the Redgate area of St. Mary's County. As a result of that investigation, a search and seizure warrant was obtained for his residence where detectives recovered cocaine, digital scales, packaging materials and a handgun. Suspect Richardson is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was subsequently indicted for those charges as well as several counts of distribution of cocaine after detectives made multiple undercover purchases of cocaine from him.

COCAINE: Amanda Lynn Norris, 26, of Callaway, was indicted for Distribution of Cocaine after detectives made undercover purchases from her.

MORPHINE: Lewis Tyler Yates, 22, of St. Inigoes, was indicted for Distribution of Morphine after detectives made undercover purchases from him.

MORPHINE: Abigail Leigh Adams, 31, and Richard Clayton Hewitt, 38, both of Lexington Park, were targets of a prescription drug investigation. Detectives discovered both to be in possession of morphine and related paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending a review with the state's attorney.
